Title: Mayflower APC and other SHTF gear
Post by: Gabriel on September 23, 2015, 10:20:24 PM
So gents, I'm currently researching gear that I will hopefully use for the foreseeable future.  My primary concern was that it was scalable, and able to be adapted to most situations.  This setup would be for every use, from range work, to SHTF, and to my eventual return to BBwarz. Obviously, there are other good pieces of kit to be thinking about, from packs to clothes, but for now I'm just focusing on my gun gear.  So here it is:

Mayflower APC w/swift clips
Haley Strategic D3CR-H w/ Kydex Inserts
Haley Strategic Flat Pack

What are you're guy's thoughts?

Those are some good picks and definitely provide you with a wide degree of scalability.

The two comparative options that spring to mind as far as scalability are the JPC 2.0 and the Velocity Systems Scarab Light.

The Mayflower APC is produced by Velocity Systems, so the swift-clip/QASM system is the same. Velocity Systems also makes "placards" for both the APC and Scarab, but these won't scale into a chest rig like the Haley D3CR.

I've considered the Scarab, but I question the long term durability of it. I don't trust the cummerbund on it. And I hadn't actually considered the JPC 2.0, which is weird because the JPC was literally the best plate carrier I've ever owned. I might consider that now. Thanks for the suggestion Gimp.
