Airsoft Discussion / Re: Getting ready for MILSIM
« on: January 03, 2017, 03:36:55 PM »
Don't forget to stay hydrated! Water is a must for any lengthy event. Otherwise anything you would run for a normal game and a backup with plenty of midcaps for both depending on rules. Personally my gun for milsim is either my flat hopped P* with a prommy 6.03 barrel, purple bucking, and prowin hopup tuned to shoot around 1.5j with a .28g OR my VMG74 flat hopped with a prommy purple bucking,6.03 barrel, Prowin V3, and other internal upgrades. I attended OP:34 last year and had a blast but I definitely felt that I over prepared. I had my P* went down an hour into the game due to the rain and I ran just a pistol the first day as a medic.

Tech Questions / Re: Outer barrel questions
« on: December 02, 2016, 10:32:43 AM »
You likely aren't going to notice an FPS loss with a shorter barrel unless it's a drastic decrease >100mm, so you are going to need to buy a shorter outer and inner barrel, a Barrel nut wrench to remove the nut to get in and replace your barrel and that should be it.

GAS / Re: Right section I hope? Kwa ATP questions.

I actually have one of those mags as well. Bought it for my g18c and the first was a lemon so I sent it back. The second I was sent had the same issue so it's just been collecting dust since I gave up on it. I might have to try that out, thanks for the tip Luke.

Just bought the KWA ATP-SE myself and was messing around with it and my old KSC g18c parts. the ATP-SE parts are compatible with the G18c save for the outer barrel it seems. The inner barrel on the ATP is only a tad longer. I have two issues with my ATP however and the first is also present on my KSC g18c. The selector switch will fall from semi to safe or hop from auto to safe from the recoil on the gun and I haven't found a way to remedy it yet. The second issue is the KWA mag that came with my pistol seems to have a leak at the gas fill valve and I get about 3-4 shots before it is empty. Hopefully a quick valve replacement should fix it or possibly disassembling the mag and lubricating the O ring inside but I'll let you know after I complete my fixes. The g18c magazine does work in the ATP and works better than the ATP mag. Also planning on buying some ATP parts from KWA to fix my g18c which I think I still prefer over the ATP.

Looking to resurrect a pistol and looking for a feed ramp, hop up housing, bucking+bearing, and the inner barrel sleeve. Inner and outer barrel are not needed.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: MIA Patch

What strength is the laser you are working with? I was thinking of picking up a 1,000mw laser engraver myself to do decals on my plastic magazines.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: Airsoft ROF - Which do you prefer and why?
« on: September 27, 2016, 06:54:49 PM »
In the year since I've started playing my personal preference has always been on lower ROF(20 RPS or less) being more enjoyable both to play with/against. I feel like it takes more skill to line up your shots and fire with intent versus just spraying an area with as much plastic as possible hoping one or more curves towards your target. Higher ROF can also lead to overshooting which can also be an issue with HPA (trigger spam on semi) and lower ROF builds for less experienced players.

Some of the least enjoyable experiences I had had dealt with players spraying at insane ROF into brush at way too close of a distance and too high of a FPS.(Ohio vs Michigan Round 2). Just this last weekend at future ball I was reloading my Kriss when some guy with a high ROF lit me up from heel to head that left numerous bleeding welts from 50ft through clothing. Obviously not every high ROF build would have the same issue but there will always be "that guy".

If your budget is $400 definitely look into a Krytac, they are the best put together guns I've seen and will require very little upgrading to perform well and I love their hopup system.

GAS / Re: VFC Scar Heavy Polarstar set up?

I found a polarstar JACK setup but no full FE setups. Seems to be the best/easiest way to HPA one currently.
