« on: April 27, 2016, 04:31:28 PM »
Hi guys,

I've got a very finicky TM-based 1911 pistol that I'd like someone to take a look at and get running properly.

If you've got experience teching GBB pistols, shoot me a PM and I'll fill you in on the details.

Well folks, the time has come.
Moving to beautiful Traverse City, becoming a father and having new professional responsibilities means that I have less and less time to enjoy airsoft.

Accessories & Ammo / Re: Good radio equipment
« on: April 12, 2016, 01:05:01 PM »
Honestly, the Baofengs are hard to beat. They are super cheap, do not require programming software to set up and have very inexpensive accessories. They do have QA/QC issues from time to time. They're certainly not better than, say, an iCOM F-4011 or similar, but they are significantly cheaper and work better than your traditional "bubble pack" Motorola style radio.

One thing you may want to consider before investing in another radio product is how you actually use your radio on the field. Do you have a group of guys that you need to keep in touch with or are you carrying a radio to keep in touch with members of your "in game" team? When I'm carrying my Baofeng I basically use it to monitor whatever the command channel is and then whatever channel my group of friends is on. We totally sidestep whatever the general communications net for the "in game" team because that channel is usually completely overwhelmed with people chattering away, hot-micing or screwing around. If you're only buying a radio to have the possibility of communications with your game faction and not with a specific group of guys, I'd avoid the expense. That said, Baofengs are so cheap there's really no reason not to pick one up.

Clothing & Load Bearing Gear / Re: Flyye Streamline
« on: March 23, 2016, 09:27:56 AM »
If the cummerbund is stitched to the rear plate bag and there's no slot in the rear plate bag for standard cummerbund then I'd say you're SOL as far as attaching one. You might be able to buy a Crye Airlite (or replica) cummerbund and then weave the cummerbund onto the rear of the PC with the included shock-cord. You could then either cut off the elastic c-bund or just overlap it with the skeletal one.

Clothing & Load Bearing Gear / Re: Sling bags

Take a look at the HSGI Sniper Waist Pack.

http://www.highspeedgear.com/hsgi/sniper-waist-pack-13SWP0.html

Or, alternatively, think about building a battlebelt loadout.

I think a sling pack would be cumbersome if you needed to get anything out of it in a hurry (think reloading the rifle) and would probably bounce around quite a bit.

Just my 2 cents.
