2020 Storyline:

“South Korea is a whorehouse, where the imperialism of the United States and its allies procreate in the loins of outsourced industry and globalization. Our mores and venerated traditions are corrupted and sold in the back alleys of Seoul by vendors of capitalism. The glorious legacy of Korea, built on the backs of freedom fighters is burdened by the scourge of American colonialism upon our world.”

- KCBS Voice of Korea, Pyongyang

South Korean and United States Troops Conduct Breakout Along DMZ

Encircled American and South Korean troops have successfully conducted a breakout along a heavily fortified section of the DMZ near Yanggu and managed to rejoin friendly positions along the remnants of the Demilitarized Zone. The three platoons of soldiers became separated from the rest of their unit for more than two days, when an unexpected attack by Chinese infantry caused widespread havoc during a routine patrol. The three platoons however suffered over a 40% casualty rate during their escape, with more than 30 killed in action, and two reported as missing in action.

United States Secretary of State Mike Pomepo is quoted as saying that “the event is a tragic loss of life and only reinforces the need for American action on the Korean peninsula.” A sentiment echoed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson; “The British people stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with our South Korean and American allies.”

- Kimberly Walters (BBC World Service)

Vietnamese and North Korean Troops Destroy Dam In Gangwon Province

Vietnamese and North Korean infantry have destroyed a hydroelectric dam on the Han River in Gangwon Province, flooding large areas of farmland and urban areas downstream. The area quickly came under occupation by North Korea during the early stages of the war and has been fought over and contested ever since. With most of the civilian population either evacuated or listed as a casualty, the region has been devastated by years of warfare and now flood waters, the area has now been rendered nearly uninhabitable.

Communist forces, in particular North Korea and China have begun to take a more scorched earth tone in regards to civilian and military actions. The flooding has caused the nearby Peace Dam on the Bukhan River to overflow, sending water as far South as Seoul; washing out bridges, roadways, and electrical systems. The damage to already weakened infrastructure has only caused further problems for coalition soldiers fighting in the area, hampering the movement of troops and vital supplies to front line positions.

- Jonah Bankes (Associated Press)

Chinese Infantry Engage Coalition Troops Outside Incheon

Large numbers of Chinese mechanized infantry are engaging coalition troops near the South Korean city of Incheon. An important port city and an international trade hub, the region has been the site of heavy fighting and house-to-house, urban warfare. The city itself has changed hands between forces, with American and South Korean forces liberating the city from North Korean occupation the previous year. The Chinese Navy has also blockaded the port of Incheon, preventing any possible support from the sea from entering the area.

China however, has not managed to seize control of the major highways and railways between Incheon and other vital parts of South Korea. Despite having control of the seas and what some would consider a siege on the Northern edge of Incheon, American and South Korean forces, supported by Australia are pouring reinforcements into the region, attempting to turn back the People’s Liberation Army and force them North.
