Newbie Discussion / Re: 82nd Airsoft
« on: October 05, 2017, 02:37:07 PM »
Thanks for the information darcness. Only one more thing I'm worried about. What color scheme should I try to bring? All the pictures in the facebook page seem to have everyone in camo patterns, and that hasn't been my style in my past private games. Should I try to buy some, and if so, would tan or green be better for this environment? Please bear with me I'm just always a bit indecisive when it comes to trying new places.

Newbie Discussion / Advice for a new player.
« on: October 02, 2017, 02:49:31 PM »
Hey guys,
I've been on the forums for a little bit, about 4 years I think. The catch is, I've only played one day at an official field, the outdoor one in Fenton that just closed. So I need some advice. I already love the sport, and am willing to put in some more time and cash into playing, but I'd like to know how far I should limit myself. Should I invest in some cheap surplus gear and a decent gun already? I know other people say the buying is addicting, so I'm on the fence whether I should just try to compete with my basic beginner kit and wait for a while. I know this isn't the most well thought out post, but I'd enjoy some input from some of the experiences people about your journey from a new player upwards. Thanks.

I'm looking to go to the new field 82nd Airsoft this Saturday, and was just wondering if anyone had any experience they could share with me about it, as is layout, team division, and people running the place. Thanks.

How is the hopup performing on the AK sidefolder? Is it an accurate gun?

GAS / Re: KWA LM4 as first GBB gun

Do you know how much money you spent to start out, or how much Mosin did to maximize his? I know these are really specific questions, but I need to make my budget soon if I'm gonna head down this gas gun route.

GAS / KWA LM4 as first GBB gun

I'm quite new to the airsoft scene, only having played a few games with some lower level AEGs. Since it's a bit of a haul to get to any fields (I live in the Tri-City area) I don't play very much except in the summer. I know that GBBRs are best used in the warmer times, and I was wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience with the KWA LM4, in terms of reliability and consistency. I love the idea of having a more realistic platform that can help me train and also have fun. Is this a viable option for me as a beginner, and what cost am I potentially looking at for a full setup?

Ben delivered on time, everything I needed for my first game. Very smooth transaction.

Along the lines of nodded goggles, have anyone ever modded a paintball mask to be able to aim with sights? I have a mask that I've thought about cutting off the lower face protection, as it would be cheap and my siblings could use their glasses with it

Could you elaborate more on the MP5 mids? I might be in the market for some of those.

What kind of magazines do you have, and for what price?

Has anyone had experience with these glasses? I know they are really cheap, but supposedly they meet lense safety standards and are full seal. I was just wondering if they would be allowed on a Michigan field. I know I've asked similar questions before, but I can't find solid reviews, and would rather be safe than sorry.

After doing some further research, the M-frame option would be more expensive, especially if you don't already have lenses. I was going to re-purpose my sports glasses lenses to fit the Rx inserts, drastically reducing cost for in situation. My bad on that.

Why not just get Oakley M frames for the same price? I've nothing but good abou their glasses. They were my primary option before I got contacts, which is the way to go.

Where do you guys  play at? I just moved closer to the Genessee area, so I'm trying to find my options for fields and teams.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: Military training guides (pdf links given)

Thanks, I really appreciate these guides. Tactics manuals are some of my favorite reading material. The only things that didn't really pertain to airsoft are the parts about ammunition (who uses 25mm rounds anyway?). Great reads.
