This is his previous transactions/ratings.

But to add my own:
He was looking for an AEP scorpion. I had one for him. He payed when he said he would. I shipped out promptly. We had a good chatty as well. Great guy! I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.
+1

I just picked up a couple AEPs to play with(teching wise). I have a few projects I gotta do first, but if I find any insight, I'll let you know.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: MiA Round Table #2: Teching Best Practices
« on: September 14, 2015, 05:21:17 PM »
Probably the weirdest incident I've encountered in teching, was finding a barrel lock clip, in the gearbox under the nozzle, and preventing the tappet plate from moving.

I personally love LiPos. Light weight, powerful, and generally can be more condensed than NiMh/NiCad. They are much cheaper(so long as you don't buy from Airsoft retailers) as well.

Fuses can protect your gun/battery from drawing too much power, but they can also sometimes hinder performance. I personally would prefer a MOSFET over a fuse any day, even though they are really to be compared on the same level. I would say it's a matter of as long as the rest of your gun is maintained and tuned properly, you should be fine without a fuse.

As for online resources, being a part of the Airsoft Teching Q&A has clued me into numberous tips and tricks. There are a number of knowledgable people on there. For parts, my first choices are brillarmory.com and clandestineairsoft.com. Very reasonable prices with quicker shipping than larger retailers.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: Places that repair and Will upgrade guns.
« on: August 31, 2015, 05:15:32 PM »
I don't have any direct experience with any shops' repair services past when Impact Airsoft was around, as I worked there as a tech for a decent amount of the time it was open.

Read and understand the above statement, and don't take the statement below to be fact by any means.

I have heard (heard) nothing but relative horror stories from other places on their tech services. A story including one of the local places having destroyed a set of Siegetek gears somehow. Missing and stolen parts while guns were in for repair.

Places that I (myself) know will take on projects and offer tech services, are Phoenix Tactical and Eastside Commandos. I'm sure those arent the only places around that do. But stores aren't the only places to get projects worked on.

There are a number of private/individual techs in the state and local area. A few of which include myself, Deacon, and more.

Tech Questions / Re: ICS PAR MK3 Motor Overheat??
« on: August 22, 2015, 05:50:29 PM »
More than likely, your trigger contact may have fried. Either that or something with the motor.

If there is no MOSFET in the gun, it is not 11.1 lipo ready. It may be tuned well, but trigger contacts will always be a weak point.

The slowing down sounds like something may have gone wrong with the motor.

But without having the gun yourself to check things, you'll have to ask the person working on it a to what really happened.

If you did have it, I would say take off the baseplate of your motor grip, unplug the wires, and pull out the motor. Check the brushes, brush springs and the tabs that the connectors go on. If everything looks symmetrical on each side, and nothing broken, plug it in OUT of the grip, and test. If the motor spins, then it may have been a bad connection to the motor. If it doesn't spin, it is probably somewhere else in the wiring harness, or the trigger contacts.

Tech Questions / Re: ICS PAR MK3 Motor Overheat??
« on: August 22, 2015, 09:12:11 AM »
If you were holding the trigger down for three straight hours, then ANY gun would heat up... Something internally would probably melt as well. Airsoft guns are built for that.

I mean, if you want to know what happened, ask the person repairing it.

Your description of "it then began to slow down and it eventually stopped shooting"  tells me that you ran your battery dead.
More info, such as what battery you were using? Had there been any upgrades? Can all help people help you.

Other possibilities, might be that the shimming and motor height were too far off and that they cause too much friction in the system.

How long were you shooting it on full auto? Afterwards, did you test the battery elsewhere to rule out the battery not draining?

AEG / Re: CYMA M14 EBR Motor
« on: August 08, 2015, 10:40:53 AM »
Simplest way would be to buy a long type, pull the pinion off of the old motor to get the spacers, then pull the pinion off the new motor so you can take the tower off and replace it with the spacers, the just use the spring from the stock motor.

If you are more inclined to do custom work on motors, I would highly recommend getting a strong magnet motor(I like the matrix 3000, or even SRC HT if you can find one) and dropping the stock arm in the Neomagnet can. This will yield more than enough torque, and should also run cooler than just the upgrade motor as is.
