GAS / Re: KWA LM4 as first GBB gun
« on: September 26, 2017, 10:59:00 AM »
Going off memory, it wasn't a whole lot in mods. Maybe $100. Most of it was just tweaking the hop up and stuff like that. It's been a few years, so I don't remember much. There should be a thread here with all the recommended mods for it.

This is my first post in a LONG time, but as for how good the LM4 is, it is as good as you are willing to put into it.  Understand that you will not be mag dumping very often, especially in sub 60 degree weather.  Understand that you will, for the most part, be outgunned by a moderately teched AEG. And understand that you will have half the ammo at triple the weight.  If you can accept all this (which I reccomend, I loved my LM4), it is a fun as hell gun to use.  There was a thread on the old MiA board that had a list of all of the recommended mods out of the box for an LM4.  See if you can get a hold of Mosin, he had a ton of great work on his and it was nearly a 100 yard tack driver.

Thats good, I was a little concerned about movement being a little to easy.  The AO seems to have a ton of open spaces, which would make securing an area difficult.  MUTC managed to avoid that problem due to its smaller size, and TOP didn't even try, since it was a complete clusterfuck.  An absolute blast of a clusterfuck, though.

Count me in as a +1 for Green side.  I've heard countless stories about the Steel Mill, but I've never had the chance to actually go.  AO looks huge, so I'm a little worried about how well engagements are gonna go, but I'm still pumped.

Clothing & Load Bearing Gear / Re: Mayflower APC and other SHTF gear
« on: September 25, 2015, 02:48:33 PM »
I've considered the Scarab, but I question the long term durability of it. I don't trust the cummerbund on it. And I hadn't actually considered the JPC 2.0, which is weird because the JPC was literally the best plate carrier I've ever owned. I might consider that now. Thanks for the suggestion Gimp.

Clothing & Load Bearing Gear / Mayflower APC and other SHTF gear
« on: September 23, 2015, 10:20:24 PM »
So gents, I'm currently researching gear that I will hopefully use for the foreseeable future.  My primary concern was that it was scalable, and able to be adapted to most situations.  This setup would be for every use, from range work, to SHTF, and to my eventual return to BBwarz. Obviously, there are other good pieces of kit to be thinking about, from packs to clothes, but for now I'm just focusing on my gun gear.  So here it is:

Mayflower APC w/swift clips
Haley Strategic D3CR-H w/ Kydex Inserts
Haley Strategic Flat Pack

What are you're guy's thoughts?

Airsoft Discussion / Re: 'Riot' shields and MiA

That actually got me to thinking, you know what might be cool?  Styrofoam riot shields, as in shields that would chip apart and eventually break under sustained fire.  I would probably have to be fairly thing (1/4 in) in order to still be breakable at a semi extended range, but I could see those being a really interesting dynamic in some games.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: Bang kills
« on: August 16, 2015, 02:30:31 PM »
To be honest, I personally only use a bang kill ( or surrender for that matter) if its a one on one or one one two, I have a total drop on them, and I cannot feasibly engage them (within MED with no sidearm, ect).  Aside from that, the only time I wont just pop them once in the back is if they have no PC on.  And before anyone says HURRDURR IT"S AIRSOFT, IT DOESNT HURT THAT BAD, I prefer to not be a dick on the field, and if I don't have to give someone an extra welt, I wont.

Airsoft Discussion / Re: MSW: Assault on Derbent or Oplionclaws: Irene

ME and a few buddies were just talking about this.  We're most likely heading to Irene.  They kinda wanted to go to MSW, but since this is going to be mine and another friends last game before a long hiatus, we wanted to spend it with friends.

I hate to say it, but I kind of agree.  It has a futuristic look, without being too over the top.

I'm going to go ahead and submit my vote for going green this game.

I should be there.

I had no clue all that stuff went down with Eagle.  Those last few paragraphs made me sad  :'(  Oh well, Crye or Die, I guess... *sigh*
