Out of State Commerce - Airsoft Guns Allowed / Commerce Rules
« on: December 27, 2018, 05:20:30 PM »
You can sell guns again, so feel free to post but follow the rules.

Please use WTB, WTS, FS, or WTT in the subject heading, this helps speed and accuracy on what you want to give or get!!

FS = For Sale
WTB = Want To Buy
WTS = Want To Sell
WTT = Want To Trade

If you have sold something/gotten rid of it, or are no longer offering it on these forums please put SOLD or DELETE ME in your subject's heading (just go to the top post, edit it - it has to be your post you started) and I or another moderator will take care of it.

If you have multiple items to sell, but miss them in the initial post, please list them in your most recent active thread. You may use the modify button to edit the description and message in your first post of the thread. Then add a reply to the thread to bump it back to the top. This will help to keep all recent listings on -Page 1-. Do not bump a thread more than once in any 24 hour period. You may engage in conversation when addressed, but successive posts count as bumping. Again, to add information to an existing thread without bumping it, modify the original post.

If you want to add a second thread for items you want to buy that is permissible. Please limit yourself to no more than two (2) active commerce threads at any given time, one for selling and one for buying. In fairness to other sellers/buyers, please limit the number of your active commerce threads so all recent listings will be visible on -Page 1-.
(Edit-frostee, 12/29/07)

Addendum: This thread is for players to sell guns out of their personal collections. If you're trying to make a business out of selling guns, your posts belong in the reseller announcements forum.

Addendum: 1 bump per 24 hour period.

Addendum: Threads marked SOLD or DELETE ME, will be locked and deleted after 24hr period.

Credit goes to Luke213 for the original post.

Out of State Commerce - Airsoft Guns Allowed / Shipping Guide
« on: December 27, 2018, 05:17:07 PM »
Credit goes to thedeisel for creating the original thread on the original MiA Proboards forum.

http://miairsoft.proboards.com/thread/39480/shipping-guide

Recently I have gotten PM's on both MIA and AO on how to ship things.
Some people don't ship because they don't know how, or are afraid to deal with shipping.
Depending on what you ship, you may save time and money compared to driving to a city.

Lets get of to the basics; shipping services.

USPS: a very cheap and easy method to ship small to large items. It tends to be a pain to ship large items with no box(like a rifle). They offer tracking that is delayed for a couple dollars, and insurance. I always go priority for a few dollars more so the buyer gets it in a few days. ;D

DHL: don't even use them, they are a waste of time. They are dirt cheap, but takes them over a week to ship something that normally takes a couple days. They tend to half-ass things by handing it over to USPS without any tracking or notification.

UPS: very good shippers, and fast too! They offer packing for a few extra dollars, so it's very convenient for rifle shippers. but it costs twice as much as USPS to ship something. But all packages come with "Free" tracking that is very up to date, and $100 insurance that can be increased for some extra pennies.

Fedex: They are good shippers. They are like UPS, but some differences. Their shipping is a little slower than UPS, and their tracking is a little slower than UPS, but way faster than USPS. ;)

Before you post your ad, check all the shipping services to find which you think would be best for that item. Their websites offer shipping calculators to figure out what the costs would be. Then add that to your asking price. but don't go too high, or people think your prices are insane. Keep your shipping/item price balanced.

USPS' calculator: http://www.usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm?from=home_header&page=calculatepostage

DHL's calculator: http://dct.dhl.com/input.jsp?langId=en

UPS' calculator: https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US&WT.svl=PNRO_L1

Fedex's calculator: https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=US&language=en&locId=express

*NOTE* DO NOT SHOW YOUR GUN IN PUBLIC! ENCLOSE IT IN A BOX OR CASE. ASK THE SHIPPER IF THEY SHIP AIRSOFT GUNS FIRST.
They will say yes, but pulling out a gun without asking is a big NO.

When you ship it, do not just use the gun's box. The manufacture's box is not designed to be shipped by itself. get a bigger box for that one, and fill it with packaging peanuts. DO NOT EAT THE PEANUTS.   ::)
Make sure you have everything in the box before you tape it with packaging tape. And fill out the address on a piece of paper like this, and take it to the shipping service. some will just type it in the computer, and some just have you tape it on the package. I like to have it just in case.

I have sent/received hundreds of packages, and after a while you'll get the hang of it.

If you ship a pair of goggles, batteries, or even a pistol, I would use a USPS Priority Flat Rate Box for a couple of dollars, and add tracking.

For rifles I would use UPS for the convenience, and fast services. Remember the buyer can give you bad feedback for shipping badly. He's not paying $200+ to get a gun that takes a week to get to his door. ;)

And any gun I ship either a pistol or rifle, I add insurance.

If you still need help, you can PM me, or ask your local shipper for assistance. They would be happy to help you. ;D

I hope you try shipping, and enjoy this guide.

And I hope more people will expand their ads by offering more options that will attract more buyers, Which will sell your item faster.

Thank you,

- thedeisel

All users are encouraged to read this section before posting.

First and foremost it's not Michigan, Indiana, or Illinois Airsoft selling items, it's individuals. We can't control effectively who uses this area, so if someone posts something for sale someone on staff may know that person but more often than not we don't. And since the platform as a whole is far less active than it was in the past there is little way to know the guys selling. As a buyer or seller it's your responsibility to protect yourself and do your best to check into guys. But at the end of the day there is always an element of risk to buying and selling and by using this you assume that risk.

Second, use paypal when possible DO NOT USE FRIENDS AND FAMILY, honestly I know guys don't want to pay the fees etc. But if you use Friends and Family you get ZERO paypal protection. Is it fine most of the time yeah, until it isn't. I've had guys I trusted fail to deliver using friends and family I have zero need to ever use it again when buying something and I'd highly recommend you not using it either.

Third, if possible meet up in person to be able to look over the gun. In almost all cases I've bought a used airsoft gun something has been wrong that wasn't disclosed. Sometimes the guy knew, sometimes he didn't have the experience to know, and who knows what accounts for the other times. But being able to check out the gun/gear in person solves that problem. Also if possible go somewhere you can see it shoot and hear the mechbox if applicable etc. If you can't then take a note from the guys online who show a video of the gun functioning, then you can hear, and see some more things than pictures will show you.

Last but not least if a deal sounds too good to be true then please exercise additional caution. I know everyone wants a deal but just like you're unlikely to "get a million dollars by filling out a facebook quiz" it's highly unlikely you'll see an $800 gun for $100 in perfect working order. I'm not saying it doens't happen, but it's infrequent so if you see a good deal put up your shields a little harder to insure you're protected. And keep in mind while we all enjoy the hobby at the end of the day look out for yourself as no one else will, it's your responsibility to try and insure things go well. .

Storyline:

The ‘War on Drugs’ is a loosely used and general term for a set of international legislation, prohibition, financial assistance, military aid, and conflicts both regional and internal with the stated goals of reducing the global illegal drug trade (narcotic and/or controlled substance black market), reduction of drug related crime and violence, and reducing the consumption of illegal controlled substances. According to a 2003 United Nations report, the worldwide drug trade generated an estimated $321.6 billion (USD); an estimated 1% of all global trade.

In the United States, President Richard Nixon officially launched the ‘War on Drugs’ in 1971 declaring that drug abuse was “public enemy number one.” Often since their formation nation states around the world have passed laws and regulations attempting to control the sale, use, and distribution of controlled substances. Official attempts to regulate or prohibit psychoactive substances came as early as 1729 with Chinese laws prohibiting the smoking of opium. Prohibition laws are considered by law enforcement and governments to be some of the more difficult regulations to enforce; simply speaking citizens often times choose not to obey.

On June 2nd, 2011, the Global Commission on Drug Policy including former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan and the former presidents of Mexico, Brazil, and Columbia officially declared that the “War on Drugs has failed.” Governments around the world are engaged in a myriad of legal and actual battles both for and against the prohibition of drugs. Even after the ink of the legislative pen has dried and the muzzle of the rifle falls silent, a number of serious questions will remain... Has the War on Drugs reduced the demand? Has the supply of drugs been reduced or eliminated? Can morality be legislated for the benefit of public good? Should public health be treated as a legal issue?

Violence Surges in El Salvador Over Illegal Drug Trade

An early morning raid by members of the National Civil State Police and members of the Salvadoran army erupted into an hour long standoff, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers and two police officers along with four members of the Sinaloa cartel. The raid in total netted 6 kilos of cocaine and heroin, along with smaller amounts of precursor chemicals and marijuana. Members of the civil police have noticed an increasing amount of Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Temazepam and decreasing amount of Marijuana and Hashish.

A VHS tape found this morning outside the entrance of the television station in the capital city San Salvador this morning appears to show members of the cartel torturing members of the National Police and executing them shortly afterwards. Last week a drive by shooting in San Salvador turned into an all out battle between members of the Sinaloa Cartel their rival the Los Zetas. Resulting in 19 wounded and 13 dead, including an expecting mother and her husband.

The main destination of the narcotics trafficked through El Salvador and neighboring Honduras is the United States, followed closely by Europe and West Africa. However the increasingly violent nature of cartel interactions is the result of increased policing actions, the shrinking of safe and lucrative trade routes and legislation outside of El Salvador itself.

Domestic policies in the United States regarding cannabis use on both the medical and recreational level have made smuggling marijuana far less profitable. In turn drug cartels have begun to switch to products such as heroin and methamphetamine due to higher profit margins for the amount transported.

For example: A kilo (2.2 LBS) of marijuana is worth on average ($10.00 g), can generate as much as $9,856.00 USD. A kilo of Heroin or Cocaine could fetch as much as ($70.00 g), for a total of $68,992.00 USD depending on location and season…
