Well guys I solved most of my questions by calling a buddy of mine that has gone to the last 12 OP Irene games. And the good news is I'm registered, I'll be rolling with him and his team along with a few of my guys from the UP. But we'll be there;)

And that after seeing the original OP Irene stuff back when it started, and wishing I could make it. I'm finally going to get out to a proper event from Lion Claws, and I get to play in the Packard plant sounds like a dream come true;)

Unless I'm going crazy, on the event's Facebook page, LC says there will be none though.

I just emailed J Lu lastnite and received that response from him.

So unless the vehicles are just for show...but what would the point be in that. I don't see anyone bringing a vehicle and not being allowed to use it.
And as always.........May God go with you all!

Yep looking very much forward to it, now I just gotta shake out guns and gear, along with logistics for bringing along the other guys. Right now it's looking like we'll be taking my motorhome down me + three other guys, and staying on site for the game.

Has there been any mention about security for vehicles in staging?  ** never mind, just read on the LC site that there will be 24hr security for staging/camping.

So it sounds like MIA folks will be on the Somali side?  SNA or SCF?

SK and friends are rolling SCF so we can roll with Mark again.

For other guys traveling in from a distance, the site will not be available for camping Thursday night. I checked since I'm likely to leave on Thursday so that I can be there somewhat rested Friday. So just passing on news. I also got confirmation that the camping area will have on site security.

EDIT:

Question for you guys with more experience with Lion Claws games. I've read there is down time between games etc, what sort of time is there. Is it 50/50 play vs rest, or some other break down. How long are typical scenario's and how much ammo etc should I anticipate needing?

I'm trying to plan my loadout along with some other prepping for the game and more info the better for me at this point;) Since I'll be making the trip it's going to cost me more than a few bucks to be there, I'd rather try and make it as enjoyable as possible;)

Right now I'm falling between running 10 and 16 mags, which 10 would be my normal scenario type of game loadout. 16 would be needing a heck of allot more ammo than anything I've encountered even in longer engagements;) But I'd rather not be a tank with a ton of gear, since that's just going to wear me out sooner etc. I am planning on prepping a bit exercise wise over the next few months to try and get into better shape, I'm not bad now but all that running I suspect will wear me out either way so I'd rather be more ready for it.

Either way info would be appreciated, I did dig around and read up in some other threads on the old Proboards site but didn't find conclusive answers. Lots of "lighter is better" and "carry all the mags you can" which really doesn't help when it's conflicting;)

Just curious I know this is completely outside of the realm of knowing what's happening. But I saw that the Milwaukee Project was canceled what's the chances of the same happening with Irene? I'd hate to do all the prep and then not have an event to go to;)

I haven't seen many in the past cancel but I'm curious if anyone has any opinions on that. I noticed registrations are still available which makes me slightly concerned just because I've heard in the past from several guys that they usually only have registration for a very short period of time.

Either way just curious if you guys have any input looking forward to the game and hoping it doesn't end up the same way as the Milwaukee game did.

I doubt Irene will get canceled. It's their larges east cost event and oldest if I'm not mistaken.

Well have fun guys. I've got training that I can't get the time off from. Yet another year with no Lion Claws.  :'(

Question again for everyone in the peanut gallery;)

Numbers, what's the normal size for Lion Claws games? I saw the roster was posted and I did a quick paste into excel and I'm seeing 130ish registered players. Someone told me that around 650 players was the norm, and I'm not sure if they were making an estimate 650 people is allot of people but that was the number they gave me. Are we seeing lower numbers because of the recent falling out between Centurian/MSW/Lion Claws in turn out or is this a pretty normal sized Irene at this point?

Just curious I know the 130 count now is lacking players from Sponsors and the sort since I know a guy who will be there who is a sponsor and isn't on the list and I suspect neither are his guys from his store. But I'm just curious if my info was wrong or if I should expect a 200 player game etc. Mostly just curious since I've been passing on info I get to my guys who will be going with me, and I'd like to make sure I'm not passing on bad info.

Take care!

The only events that they run that I know of getting 500+ are the actual OP Lion Claws out in cali.

I think out of the 5 LC events I've attended it's been 200-300. I do know of Irene hitting the 400+ mark, but that was at prime Military base locations.

I asked them through IG last week what the total was so far and they told me 159 registered at that time.
