EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Operation Ice Melt

SCENARIO GAME RULES AND INFO
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEDIC RULES:
Specified players are medics, 1 medic respawns before going to mobile/master respawn, then repeat cycle. Once shot a teammate needs to get to the down person, place there hand on their shoulder or other body part IE foot etc. then count off twenty slowly. Once a twenty count is reached then both players are up and active again. If contact is lost with the shoulder or counting is interrupted then they need to start over again from one. For example if your reviving a player and you take fire and decide to return fire then you’ll need to start at one again to revive them. The person shot can decide if they want to call for a medic or just return to the respawn based on the number of players around. So if you get shot and you're behind enemy lines, or just a long distance from any teammates you can elect to just return to the master/mobile respawn.

RADIOS: There will be team designated channels, as well as an admin/staff channel, and an emergency medical channel. If there is a medical emergency all gameplay stops and it’s expected for everyone to relay that to the other players in their area. Leaders for each team are expected to have radios to be able to communicate with command and keep the game running as expected.

OUTDOOR/OPEN FIELD ENGAGEMENT LIMITS**
• 1 - 349 fps - Arms length engagement limit
• 350 - 400 fps - 20 foot engagement limit
• 400 - 549 fps – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only
• 550+ fps - Prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only

*Permanent semi-auto refers to replicas that do not have full-auto fire capability, no matter how the selector switch or other user input device is manipulated.
**The FPS rules for my games will be lenient for players who have shown good judgement etc. Exceptions can be made for certain people and guns, but I do reserve the right to not allow guns if guys are using them in some way that doesn’t make sense. End of the day we’re out there to have fun and not hurt people, so that’s the goal.

BACKGROUND:

After the nukes fell in 1981 during the height of the cold war, it became a much hotter war than any of us really had thought possible. The Soviet Union of the time was seen as an old dog without teeth, though that certainly wasn’t the case. They may not have had the arms they spoke of in their propaganda but they had enough to send us into a Nuclear hell. In the same token our retaliatory strikes did the same to them. Since those dark days some of us have survived, though the major cities were completely destroyed, and the surrounding area was scorched and blasted to oblivion. Some of us were lucky that day, the winds blew most of the fallout away from our area in the Upper Peninsula.

So here we are 35 years later trying to live our lives, it’s very different than it was before the nukes fell. But life is always life, there will always be fighting it’s human nature. The fight of the have and have not's. It all started with the Bandits, they began robbing anyone of anything of use to help them survive. They weren’t alone, but they were certainly the largest and most organized group. Their tactics however really is what set most people’s stomachs on edge. They would murder women, children really anyone who had something they wanted and take it. I’ll admit many of our own group of Gunners started as Bandits, but found the murder of innocent people too distasteful to continue down that road. So over time we formed the Gunners with more of a focus on Military like discipline, we even enacted laws within our group and follow our own set of rules of engagement. Note, we will kill anyone who tries to kill us, we’re not pacifists. But we also don’t go out of our way to kill innocent folks especially those not involved in the current feud.

OUTLINE:

With the melting of the snow we knew the fighting would begin again. Our long hard winters are a break from fighting one another and a chance for mother nature to get in a punch or two itself. None the less the constant battles between the Gunner and Bandit groups has flared up again and it’s no surprise to either group. It all started this spring with a Bandit attack on the Gunner convoy relaying supplies between their main base to their Northern Outpost. Bandits stole all of the supplies and murdered the convoy guards which really started another years escalation of force. With the scarcity of food and supplies I don’t see any end to the bloodshed in sight until of course winter comes again and the temperatures drop to -40F once again.
